Pull Him out

Pull Him out is a physics puzzle built on one action: pulling pins. Each level is a small cross section of a cave or vault with a character stuck in it, some treasure out of reach, and hazards like lava, water or falling rocks held back by pins. Pull the right pins in the right order and the treasure flows to him. Pull the wrong one and the lava gets there first.

How to play: click a pin to yank it out, and that is the entire control scheme. There is no timer and no move limit, so the pressure is entirely in getting the order right. What makes it work is that the level tells you everything you need before you touch anything, since you can trace where each liquid or object will fall if a given pin disappears. A failed level restarts immediately, so trial and error is cheap and honest.

The habit that solves most levels: work backwards. Look at what has to end up where, then ask which pin releases that last, and work out which pins have to come out before it without letting a hazard loose. The second thing is to watch out for pins that are doing two jobs at once, which is the trick almost every hard level in the game leans on. Slow down on those and mentally drop each object before you click.

It is a good fit if you like short physics puzzles you can play one-handed between classes.
