Elytra Flight

Elytra Flight is a voxel-style gliding game inspired by strapping on a set of wings and jumping off something tall. You are not flying with an engine, you are managing momentum, so the whole run is about diving to gain speed and pulling up to convert that speed into distance and altitude. The blocky landscape below is full of cliffs, valleys and open sky to weave through on the way down.

How to play: WASD or the arrow keys steer the glide, tilting the character forward to dive and back to level out or climb. Diving builds speed fast but loses height fast too, so the run is a constant trade-off between the two. A local two-player mode lets a second player join on the same keyboard, gliding side by side through the same landscape.

Two things stretch a glide further. Dive early after launch to build a speed bank before you need altitude, since pulling up with no speed in reserve just stalls the glide. And read the terrain ahead rather than the ground right under you, because a mountain a few seconds out decides whether you should be diving or climbing right now. Small, gradual tilts also hold a longer glide than sharp jerky corrections, which tend to bleed speed fast.
